ENCLOS PROMOTES KEY PROJECT EXECUTIVES TO VICE PRESIDENTS

Firm responds to market conditions with "hire from within" strategy

EAGAN, MN – July 2, 2014 – Enclos is proud to announce the promotion of project executives Kevin Mannen and Mike Coulter to regional vice presidents. The promotions come as part of the firm’s strategic response to growth opportunities presented by shifting market conditions, and the “hire from within” strategy consistent at Enclos. Both Mannen and Coulter have been integral to the firm’s success in the western region.

“This move will assure that we have the necessary leadership in place to manage the opportunities presented by the current market,” says Bruce Bornhurst, executive vice president for the west region of Enclos. “Kevin and Mike are two of the most respected members of our organization, both tried and tested in some of our most challenging projects to date.”

Kevin Mannen has been a rising star since joining Enclos is 1988. His project experience includes airports, casinos, commercial offices, federal buildings, hospitals, hotels, museums and residential towers. Kevin’s work has involved extensive travel and management of many of the firm’s major projects, including our largest single contract to date: the $140 million MGM City Center Aria Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The project includes over 1.2 million square feet of building facade, and represents one of our most successful. He has managing an extensive supply chain with global reach, incorporating dozens of vendors and material suppliers necessary to assure top quality products delivered on time and on budget. Kevin’s values, integrity and commitment to his work have contributed significantly to his rise through the Enclos organization, and have earned him the deep respect of both clients and colleagues. His resourcefulness and out-of-the-box problem solving skills will serve him well as he leads a new business unit into the Hawaiian Islands.

Coulter first joined the Enclos team in 1992 as an intern while pursuing a degree in construction engineering at Cal Poly Pomona. Prior to this, he cut his teeth in the curtainwall industry working in the shop of his father’s curtainwall installation company.  Following a brief post-graduate period of employment with general contractor Whiting Turner, Coulter returned to Enclos and began his own rise through the ranks of the firm’s west coast operations team. He demonstrated the depth of his leadership and management skills while playing onsite management roles on exceedingly complex projects in Las Vegas during a period of growth that rippled through the firm. Projects included the Lloyd D. George United States CourthouseTrump International Hotel & TowerWynn and Encore.  Despite minimal support from overstressed operations teams, Coulter’s hands on management style lead the efforts in bringing these projects to successful completion. He is highly organized, forward thinking, thoughtful in his planning, deliberate in his actions, and always cost and schedule conscious to the satisfaction of his many clients. Coulter will lead a business unit focused on Las Vegas and the Rocky Mountain States.

Both Mannen and Coulter have been instrumental in the training and mentorship of up and coming project management personnel, a role that will continue through their integral involvement in the firm’s innovative SOAR (Succession Opportunities through Advanced Rotation) project management training program.
