Rapid evolution in facade technology, design and delivery practices drive change

EAGAN, MN – January 7, 2016 – Enclos has announced concurrent promotions within the firm’s sales, engineering, operations and administrative departments. Executive level changes start at the top, with the promotion of Bruce Bornhurst to President of Enclos. The announcement was made by Gregg Sage, President of Enclos’ parent company, CH Holdings USA, Inc. Bornhurst replaces Sage, who had been acting President of Enclos since 2004. Sage is stepping down to focus on other CH Holdings business.

“Bruce’s broad experience and leadership contributions have been integral to Enclos’ success over the years,” Sage says. “His disciplined approach to sales and operational excellence insure best practices at every level.”

Bornhurst has been responsible for Enclos’ west coast sales and operations since 1985. During his tenure, he has overseen the successful implementation of several of the firm’s landmark projects, including the $140 million MGM City Center: Aria Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, the firm’s largest single contract to date, and the recent San Francisco Museum of Modern Art expansion, which features the largest architectural use of fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) in the United States. Bornhurst was a key figure in the establishment of the Advanced Technology Studio of Enclos in 2009, which has refined the firm’s design-assist capabilities and operated at the forefront of advanced facade technologies. In his new role as president of Enclos, Bornhurst will oversee the strategic development, growth and profitability of Enclos.

“Market change is accelerating,” commented Bornhust. "We are currently completing a round of projects unprecedented in their novelty, complexity, and the operational challenges they present. We are taking what we’ve learned from these projects and organizing in anticipation of the next wave of change. Strategic organizational adaptation has become an ongoing process.”

Steve Danke has been named Executive Vice President of Sales with national responsibility for the firm’s sales and pre-construction activities. Danke has been with Enclos since 1989, managing the firm’s preconstruction estimating and engineering in the western region in recent years. The firm’s east and west coast Advanced Technology Studios have also been united under the leadership of Danke. These changes are aimed at elevating the level of service to the firm’s clients.

“We are looking to balance our project work load as a strategy to meet our goal of continuous improvement in the services we provide our clients,” Danke emphasized. “We are targeting growth in key market sectors with a project mix ranging in size and complexity. Large and highly complex projects in dense urban environments may be our specialty, but our clients are demanding services with other project types as well, and we intend to accommodate this.”

Reporting to Danke will be John Wolf, promoted to Vice President of Sales. Like Danke, Wolf’s background combines operations with business development, with Wolf having a long and successful track record in the unique New York City marketplace. His curtainwall experience prior to Enclos started with Flour City in 1995, followed by Permasteelisa in 2000, before joining Enclos in 2014. Wolf will continue his business development activities focused on the New York City area, where he managed the sale of two of the firm’s largest contracts to date in 2015.
