Enclos team will journey to the land of the midnight sun

EAGAN, MN - March 7, 2011 – Enclos will have a strong presence at the upcoming GPD, the largest international conference on architectural glass. The event is held biannually in Tampere, Finland, with more than 800 participants from over 55 countries in attendance. This year’s program consists of two days of workshops and three days of conference proceedings from June 17-20.

Six papers submitted by Enclos were accepted for the conference and will be published in the conference proceedings. Five of the papers will be presented as part of the speakers program, and one is included in the poster session. Topics of the Enclos submissions include: glass performance, CFD modeling, blast design, double skins, structural glass facades and retrofit strategies.

The Architect’s Forum is a special program at GPD, where leading industry experts are invited to present topical information most relevant to the architectural profession. At this year’s Forum, Mic Patterson, Director of Strategic Development at Enclos’ Advanced Technology Studio (EnclosATS), has been invited to speak on sustainability considerations of glass in the building facade. Other Forum speakers include such industry leaders as James Carpenter, Timothy Macfarlane, Werner Sobek, and Keith Boswell. Mic will also be conducting a full day workshop on structural glass façade technology, along with Jeff Vaglio, Design Engineer at EnclosATS, and Michael Ludvick, Structural Engineer at M. Ludvik & Co.

The full program including workshop descriptions and other conference details is available at the GPD website here. Join us for the fun in Finland!
