ENCLOS UNVEILS NEW WEBSITE

Comprehensive New Site Intended as a Primary Resource to AEC Industry

LOS ANGELES, CA – July 8, 2010 - Enclos has unveiled a comprehensive new website at http://www.enclos.com intended to act as a primary resource for the AEC industry with respect to the building skin. The July rollout of the website is the first step in a multi-phased web development program in which increasing layers of content will be added as resource material for the firm's clients: architects, building owners, property developers, general contractors, and others with a stake in the building facade.

“This is not merely an online brochure,” says Mic Patterson, Director of Strategic Development for the firm, “Our website is now a dynamic, content-rich Web location, with new materials being added on an almost daily basis.” The new site features Enclos’ core service and technology offerings, which include curtainwall systems and structural glass facades. The site explores the materials, processes and techniques the firm employs in implementing its advanced façade technology. Website pages discuss façade security, acoustical performance, sustainability, and AESS steel fabrication. A searchable database of over 150 projects will grow to include nearly every project completed by the firm in its 64-year history, including many landmark projects and a progression of the “world’s tallest” buildings.  Images and descriptive text are included. “The Library is another feature we are excited about,” says Patterson. “It is intended to grow over time with technical content including relevant image, video and document assets derived from both internal and external sources.” Future plans include a series of AIA continuing education courses related to various aspects of the building façade that architects will be able to complete online.

The new website is part of a major initiative launched by the firm in 2010, including an ambitious marketing and R&D program intended to further the state of the art in advanced facade technology. The program is driven by the escalating aesthetic and performance demands on the building skin. Architects are facing an increasingly complex array of decisions with respect to the building façade: just the decision matrix with respect to glass variations, a ubiquitous material in the building façade, numbers at close to one million according to one industry source. The Enclos initiative includes the recent launch of the Advanced Technology Studio, a façade think-tank in downtown Los Angeles, with the goal of both developing advanced facade technology solutions and assisting architects and builders in their application.

Enclos – providing the visible difference in the building skin – is a leading facade technology firm, providing comprehensive design, engineering and strategic implementation services for custom facades and curtainwall cladding systems. With over 350 people and 16 office locations, the firm self-performs a spectrum of services and manages a sophisticated global supply chain, a strategy that optimizes capacity, quality and economy for its diverse client base. Enclos is consistently ranked as a leading facade contractor in national industry surveys. Enclos has been a leader in facade system development since the advent of contemporary curtainwall systems in the mid twentieth century. Many of the most prominent buildings in the world’s great cities showcase Enclos’ innovative approach to engineering and construction. www.enclos.com
