L.A. Live JW Marriott Hotel Opens
The JW Marriott Hotel Los Angeles, a significant component of the $2.5 billion revitalization of downtown Los Angeles, opened its doors today.
Enclos provided complete design-assist and design-build services for the 540,000 sqft of custom unitized curtainwall that skins the L.A. Live Tower & Residences, of which the JW Marriot claims floors 4 through 21 of the hotel tower. 34 different types of glass articulate Gensler’s patterned design, and 20,000 sqft of structural glass facade at the podium entrance was also provided by Enclos.
With it’s proximity to downtown Los Angeles’ entertainment district, including the Staples Center, Los Angeles Convention Center, Nokia Theater L.A. Live, Club Nokia, Grammy Museum, and ESPN’s west coast headquarters, the JW Marriott’s urban site is often referred to as the “Times Square of the West.”
Acting as the hotel headquarters of the Los Angeles Convention Center, the JW Marriott offers 878 guest rooms and 52 suites with five-star services for every type of traveler. Amenities include nearly 100,000 sqft of indoor meeting and event space, three ballrooms, a 4,000 sqft fitness center, and an outdoor pool. Fine dining and social retreats are offered throughout the JW Marriott, including the Glance wine bar, The Mixing Room cocktail lounge, Illy Coffee Bar, and celebrity chef restaurant L.A. Market.
Both the hotel and Ritz-Carlton luxury condominium tower are LEED certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.
