Description

The ideal candidate will have experience setting up a successful sales strategy and has built relationships within the General Contractor and Architect communities. Candidate must have vision, and find gratification in putting together a bid and directing a design solution as opposed to hands on doing of the design solution. Written and oral communication skills are vital, excellent listening skills are mandatory.  Exhibits confidence in self and others.  Must be a quick reader of blueprints and have the ability to put together a bid package.  Must have passion for construction, architecture, and especially the building skin.

The position must have the ability to relate and work with all levels of employees from Executive to union personnel. The applicant must have 5-10 years of sales management experience in the architecture and construction industry. Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Structural Engineering or Business. Travel required as necessary.

Requirements

Requirements for the position include:

  • Develops relationships with general contractors, owners and architects in targeted offices and services these as a primary client, tracks projects as they develop
  • Distinguishes themselves by providing timely assistance and technical advice, they walk new sales to closure with a strategic and consistent and highly effective servicing of the client
  • Develops relationships with curtainwall consultants and maintains a database of contacts and projects on the corporate database
  • Directs and coordinates local marketing activities with our marketing group, which provides service support to the local sales group
  • Qualifies the project opportunities
  • Assembles and co-leads a team during the sales process
  • Directly participates in concept development with the design team; determines our level of pre-sale involvement based on the project specifics
  • Preconstruction Manager does not spend their time behind a computer doing concept development but rather understands our design better than anyone else and can articulate this understanding to either side as required
  • Manages the project handoff on all project awards through the transition period until our operation teams are fully engaged and up to speed, maintains client contact (architect, consultant, CM, GC, others) throughout the build phase
  • Manages key relationships with material suppliers, consultants, fabricators, subcontractors, construction manager and general contractor as the design develops
